After the victory in Ondo, APC Chairman announced that their next target are the states of Osun and Oyo.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has articulated the party's objective of establishing political dominance across all southwestern states.

This announcement was made on Sunday, following the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) declaration of the APC as the victor of the 2024 Ondo State governorship election. Ganduje emphasized the party's commitment to ensuring that all southwestern states fall under its governance.

In a statement to reporters in Akure, Ganduje remarked, “Our next focus is the southwest geopolitical zone. We have a proven track record of achieving our objectives, as demonstrated in Osun State and Oyo State. We are dedicated to integrating these states into our fold to foster political unity within the southwest.”

Additionally, he described the Ondo governorship election as being conducted in a free and fair manner.

“This is undoubtedly a moment of celebration; seeing is believing, and this exemplifies democracy in action. What is paramount is that all key stakeholders involved in the election process, particularly INEC, have affirmed that the election was free, fair, and credible, with adequate logistical and manpower support provided,” he stated.
